Been with Schwab for 25 years in that time I have had minor issues and they were sorted very quick, I trade for a living and manage multi accounts for customers who are with Schwab via my recommendation, the service they offer now is the worst service I have ever had with any company in my life, I'm writing facts and I am not dramatizing anything. the customer service is none existent I have personally sat waiting with the phone on loudspeaker for 1 hour 45 mins and still no answer and I have also sitting waiting on the phone for 2 hours for a emergency broker because I was stuck in a trade No Answer, this is because the software has loads of bugs, if you try to DM someone using the SSE software forget it they will take about 1 hour 30 mins to even reply and then will not follow up with the chat, OK so I think we are clear that they no longer have a customer service period ! OK lets go to the software, this has happened on many occasions but I will just tell you the one, I was long on XXXX on the news I wanted to sell the news so I put a sell order in using ARCA perfect sale but hang on account now showing I'm 2500 long still? the software is telling me I am still long 2500 shares of a 60k order so I sell the 2500 shares, looks good great profit, little did I know I shorted 2500 shares of a fast moving stock that was running up, the software was telling me I had no shares short or long? so I had DM customer service just to check this just in case and yep you guessed it no response so I load up the web based software and yep I am 2500 shares short so of course I lost a small amount of money due to the fact that SSE is full of bugs, so any time I trade I have to check web based account to make sure I am clear of the trade, to put it polite as not to offend anyone, I think Charles Schwab is the most crap and most unreliable service you could use as a professional trader on the market today, I would not advise anyone to use this cheap crap broker service unless you want to lose your money, I am being as nice as I can what I really think is that Schwab is a $%*&$%"*&%$*&"%$ service.
I have banked with Schwab for more than 30 years. Over the decades, I have enjoyed wonderful customer service. But, all of that has changed.
I think the problems started 2-4 months ago. Today, it is real PAIN to get in touch with a representative. And once you do, the results are pretty bad.
They force you to wait on hold for 30 minutes or even longer. Even the online chat has 30-35 minute wait time.
Also, simple things like IRA transfer used to take 2-3 days. Now it is 2-4 weeks.
Schwab, PLEASE implement a call-back option or something. People can't wait on hold or sit in front of their phone for a half hour waiting to get a representative.
Very disappointing. I hope Schwab fixes their customer support soon.

Such a horrible experience. complicated always a case of concern how people steal funds and scam innocent investors, even on here, you dont get to know who is trying to help you or steal more, i have been frustrated about how this scam organisation emptied my crypto a year ago, i had to start from the scratch until my co worker introduced me to this legal agency ( w w w . official debts reclaim. n et ) who helped me in ways that still feels like miracle.
I opened my account and transferred funds from my bank in Switzerland. I logged into my account and submitted a withdrawal request. They send me an email the following day mentioning that they tried to call me to ensure that I was the one who requested the withdrawal and asked to call them back in order to process the request. I replied from my email registered with them and the message box from my account at Charles Schwab. I informed them that I am on holiday and confirmed that it is me who requested the withdrawal and they can call me on my Danish number. So far no call/reply from them and my withdrawal request is still pending.
I would not recommend this broker to any trader. Other brokers have better customer support, especially when it comes to the withdrawal of your funds.
OK where do we start I opened an account the other day and accidentally miss keyed my Social Security number by one number I called in and was told to send in a copy of my Social Security number with a letter stating what I did I get a call back today stating they want a government document W9 proving I am who I said I am I replied that’s a Social Security card is a government document it should not be this hard requiring an active God to fix a miss keyed social Security number it is to my opinion laziness to put all the work on quotations customers with my frustrations I will shut down my account and open it up with one of the other of hundreds of companies that offer an IRA with trading The lackadaisical attitude that they have on fixing something for the customer after he done send in a government document is inexcusable that was my opinion you should steer clear from this company by all cost because it could cost you in the long run when you Miss Key something
Twice in the last week I have sold stock that I owned with Charles Schwab. In both cases, the order was placed at or just after 4pm in the afternoon. In both cases, the order was not executed until the next day.
In once case, the order was executed at 9:31am at a price over 2.00 less than what it was the previous afternoon. But in the second case, the stock was not sold until the next day also at an amount significantly less than when I placed the order. These were not limit orders, but market orders..
Charles Schwab is extremely slow, or is getting some financial incentive for delaying orders that are not in someones best interests. It just has the feel of being rigged. I am used to Fidelity where your stock prices are done fairly instantaneously.
In another case I put a limit order on a stock to buy. By the time Schwab bought, the price was way above the limit that I set.
Schwab may be ok for buy and hold forever, but don't ever expect Schwab to do anything at the time that you request it. They are inept or corrupt.
Appalling website. Appalling performance of basic tasks. Unable to complete a wire transfer without a phone call and getting a pdf of details. Website doesn't even have all the form fields.
Stuck in the 90s, in a bad way.
In the words of the hitchhikers guide, "They'll be the first with their backs against the wall when the revolution comes."

Schwab is struggling with recent market conditions, covid19 and very high trading volume.
It has been increasingly difficult to get help, with hold times ranging from fifteen minutes to an astonishing two hours. This can be absolutely awful if you NEED help on an important financial transaction.
For example I had an account with about $1100 of cash in it, but when I tried to transfer it out, it said "We were not able to complete the following transfer(s) or payment(s) from your account noted above because there were insufficient funds". Even the Schwab reps couldn't figure it out, and many phone calls later finally got it fixed. Total on-hold wait time in the dozens of hours.
This situation is truly scary. We're not dealing with ordering take-out. This is my financial well-being at stake, and sometimes I really need quick help.
For now at least, that is simply not possible.

When I started with Schwab mid-2020, their customer service was remarkably excellent.
For the past few months, wait times are unacceptable (30 min to over an hour) and the ability of the reps to answer questions is noticeably worse too.
On several occasions recently my questions have been answered with "hmm I'm not sure". With no offer to find out. On the occasions I have asked to be transferred, I have been disconnected.
I think I will be moving my accounts soon because they are clearly too busy for my business.
Please stay away from this brokerage firm since
1. They lied from left to right, from top to the bottom.
2. They don't know what they are doing except ask 'investors' to DEPOSIT to the account
3. They will take retaliation on you when file complaint ( it's illegal but no one will took any action)
4. They had agents oversea who worked on your account so your personal info might be leaked out!
Get your tech department in order. I am losing money when I can't trade due to a menu of excuses you use for non-performance on your part. If you need more technical expertise; pay for it.
Quit using that rediculous "excuse bar" over your main menu page. Apologizing/whinning/ excuses do not sit with day traders. Get you act in order...
First off, I probably should have known that Schwab would be problematic. When opening my account, they lost my check. After over a month of customer service calls, I had to cancel and send a new check.
Another time I used them, after deciding which investments to choose, I placed an order (the night before). When I went to check on them the next evening, I realized that Schwab will freeze purchases until they finish executing trades- which takes longer than expected. They placed this freeze because the stock price went up a few cents after I submitted my trade and Schwab purchased the stock. Instead of purchasing one less or notifying me before restricting my account they created a very difficult trading environment. By the way- the difference was a $1. The annoying thing is that all of this is over a dollar and/or their failure to let me know of an issue. Some places value their customers and don't push them aside without communication.
